Crisis Support Staff

Crisis Support staff provide immediate, short-term assistance to individuals experiencing behavioral or situational challenges.

This role focuses on stabilizing situations, ensuring safety, and helping participants transition back to their regular supports with appropriate guidance and care.

What you’ll do in this role

Working in Crisis Support involves responding to urgent situations with professionalism, patience, and clear decision-making. Staff provide direct support during times of need while helping individuals regain stability and connect with ongoing services and supports.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Provide immediate support to ensure safety and stabilization
  • Assist individuals in de-escalating behavioral or emotional challenges
  • Follow individualized support or crisis intervention plans
  • Communicate with supervisors and support teams during incidents
  • Document events accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support transition back to regular services after stabilization

What this looks like day-to-day

  • Responding to calls or assigned crisis support situations
  • Providing one-on-one support in the home or community
  • Using de-escalation techniques to support individuals in distress
  • Monitoring safety and adjusting support based on the situation
  • Coordinating with team members and documenting outcomes
